The nutrient needs and digestive action of dogs change with their life cycles and activities. The sterile digestive tracts of newborn puppies is quickly populated with both health-promoting and pathogenic bacteria, as well viruses. Irregular nutrient intake and challenging conditions negatively impact digestive tract health of puppies and mature dogs.
